From Sarajevo we headed south towards the quaint city of Mostar accompanied by a new travel companion, Aiden who we had met on our city tour the previous day. The 2-hour drive south navigated through lofty mountain passes and lush green valleys lined by turquoise blue lakes. The addition of our new kiwi friend made the trip all the more interesting as we aimlessly exchanged conversation without a hint of awkwardness. On the way we stopped into the town of Jablanica to gaze upon its ruined bridge.
Arriving in Mostar we secured a perfectly located car park and set out into the slender city streets to explore. We wandered the streets and alleyways for the next hour or so before parting ways with our new pal and heading to our campsite. On our way back to the car we stopped by a café located directly beside the Stari Most Bridge to watch adventurous daredevils entertain the masses by jumping from the 20-metre bridge into the frigid waters of the Neretva River.
