About Us

Who are we?

Hello, we are Jordan and Kirstin from Brisbane, Australia.

For us travelling by road is travel in its greatest form. Hitting the open road and driving into the unknown provides us with the freedom and independence to explore the world at our own pace.

While we both grew up traversing the East Coast of Australia on family road trips our road travelling adventures took full flight in 2011, when we set off on a 3-week road trip adventure around the West Coast of the United States. Since then we haven’t looked back. In fact we have become incapable of travelling in any other way. Well that’s not entirely true. Lets just say the constrictions of transportation and hotel bookings are not really a part of our travel philosophy.

Rather than spending hours couped up on buses, trains and planes, we like to get behind the wheel and navigate our own adventure. We want to visit the places that are often missed or simply forgotten by other travellers. Sure, it’s easy to visit Kraków, Poland. But what about the lesser-known and equally spectacular Bieszczady Mountains in Poland’s remote southeast corner, or how about stepping away from the bright lights of Las Vegas Boulevard to visit one of the many outstanding National Parks hidden in its shadow. Simply we like to travel to places that are more than just “been there done that, tick it off the list” destinations.

Driving gives us the freedom to go where we please and stay as long or as little as we like. That is why we have created Road Traveller, to showcase our journeys and inspire you to rid yourself of those restrictive travel plans, grab the keys and drive into the unknown.

What is Road Traveller?

Road Traveller is an online hub for any road trip or road travel related topics. From camping to hiking to driving, we want to share and provide all the information we gather on our travels to inspire and guide your next journey.

We share original and reliable Road Guides that will ease the burden of planning your next road trip adventure.

Our Road Diaries give you an insight into our latest escapades, primarily focussing on less popular destinations.

We also like to share some of the tips and tricks we have picked up on our road trip adventures. We even have a page for those days you just want a bit of ole fashioned inspiration.

So what are you waiting for?

Pick a destination, get inspired and plan your next road trip adventure! It’s easier than you think.

    Hey there!
Great blog and refreshingly different type of travel blog. We spent two months road-tripping around Malaysia recently and had the time of our lives. We loved it so much that we hate not having a vehicle now when we travel and try very hard to have the type of freedom car traveling allows. Can’t wait to see where the road takes you!

    All the best,
    Lucy of http://www.justourpassports.com

Thanks for the nice words Lucy. Road-tripping Malaysia would have been amazing! I know, once you’ve travelled by car all other forms are just not good enough! We’re always in shambles (and a little miserable) when we have to rely on a bus to get us somewhere.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your travels and take care! 🙂
